The comfortable cottage with separate games room and Wendy House is situated on a secluded and tranquil farm with views to Dartmoor. Lavender Cottage sleeps 6, with a 7th on a folding bed or in a cot. There is a renowned local pub with river and lake fishing 1/2 mile away, and rough shooting available over the farm.
The farm has breeding units of rare breeds, including Tamworth pigs, Shropshire sheep and Dairy Shorthorn cows, together with chickens, ducks and geese. Children are welcome to help with feeding. Way-marked wildlife walks through young forest lead you to where barn owls may be seen swooping to hunt at dawn or dusk,and during the day buzzards with their eerie cries are frequently seen wheeling overhead. The farm has been awarded a Silver Award by Devon Wildlife Trust for environmental conservation and access.
The renowned and beautiful Tarka Cycle Trail passes the farm, going eastwards through to Hatherleiegh and westwards to Torrington, and along the Torridge estuary to Bideford and Barnstaple.
The cottages are 12 miles from Okehampton, 14 miles from the nearest beach and within easy driving distance of many of Devon's attractions
