Many beaches of all kinds are easy to get to. We have sandy, rock pool, pebble (like Brighton), surfing, fossil hunting, secluded and just about any kind of beach you could wish for. * The Cleeve is set in a place once the seat of West Saxon kings.
There are references not just in the Doomsday book but the Saxon Chronicles too. We are also located in a Mesolithic site, much older even than the pyramids of Egypt! Visit the petrified forest and much more. * Fabulous ancient woodland.

You can go directly from the lovely lawn to a bridleway. You could take the winding garden path over our private bridge across the lovely stream and saunter up the quiet country lane deeper into our spectacular setting. There are 3 great pubs, one dating back to the 12th century, several restaurants and plenty of shops for everyday needs. Just a short walk over the quiet lane and visible from our elevated patio there are the village sports facilities including a tennis, football, cricket, bowls and rugby clubs. There is a large public children's lovely play area just across the lane (and visible from The Cleeve) which is ideal for young children. Of course, your children staying here can also play in our garden, just keep an eye on them especially smaller ones so you can find them! Exmoor has some of the lowest light pollution in the country and that makes our area wonderful for watching the stars, trying to spot celestial bodies and for letting out the budding astronomer in you. * The Wildlife of Exmoor.
