It has an attractive main square surrounded by traditional buildings, some of them thatched; just off the square are a pub, the local primary school and two churches, the Church of England parish church of Saint Thomas Becket and the Methodist church. Northlew is a lively village with events taking place throughout the year at which visitors are made very welcome. The village is 7 miles northwest of Okehampton so there are endless opportunities for exploring the beautiful coastal area around Bude as well as the stunning serenity of Dartmoor National Park. Glen cottage is the ideal choice for a couple or family seeking a traditional holiday cottage either for a quiet get away from it all retreat or as a base from which explore all the Devon has to offer.

Cottage Facilities: Sleeps 4. The spacious accommodation includes a cosy sitting room with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, a comprehensively equipped kitchen and a separate dining room. On the first floor there are two bedrooms one with a pine four poster double bed and one with twin beds, as well as a larger than average bathroom with corner bath and separate shower cubicle A seating area at front of cottage is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine full central heating is available for those colder days. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-dryer refrigerator, freezer and microwave. The lounge is equipped with TV with freeview, CD player, music centre, puzzles, board games, books CDs, local maps and information on places to visit. All towels and bed linen provided. Pet feeding bowls provided. A welcome refreshment tray awaits your arrival.

Local Amenities: Glen Cottage is a 1 minute walk to the village square, and village inn. The village children’s play area with swings skate board area and ball games area is 200yards. Many interesting walks can be started from the cottage, via the lanes and public footpaths. The nearby valley of Ashbury is a beautiful place to walk and picnic.

Okehampton is seven miles away with supermarkets, high street shops, restaurants, inns, petrol stations, doctors surgery, cinema, pets shop, vets service, garden centre and tourist information.

Activities: Fly and coarse fishing, walking and riding are available locally. Okehamton has a swimming pool and tennis courts. Singleton Park in Okehamton is ideal for walking with or without a dog. The beaches of Bude are 30minutes away and are ideal for swimming and surfing. Dogs are allowed on specific beaches. The market town of Tavistock and the cathedral town of Exeter provide leisure centre, restaurants, theatres, cinema, indoor and outdoor children's attractions. Rosemoor Gardens and the Eden project are great places to spend a day.
