Two bedrooms with hand basins and 2 single divan beds in each with duvets and pillows.

Bathroom with bath and hand shower, hand basin as well as separate shower cubicle.

About Maidencombe Holiday Homes

We are currently offering a small number of attractive holiday homes in Maidencombe in South Devon, England. All are maintained to a high standard and have been awarded an VisitBritain 3 star classification for self-catering.

Maidencombe is a quiet hamlet set in a steep valley or combe overlooking the sea. Rolling countryside with hedgerows and Devon banks surround the combe and reach down to magnificent red Devon sandstone cliffs, which represent some of the best coastal landscape in these islands. The area is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and a Conservation Area. Visitors cherish the peace and quiet of this lovely rural setting with its immediate access to the South Devon coast path, which is popular with walkers. The thriving seaside town of Torquay, only 5 miles away, can be reached either on foot or by car.

Maidencombe is an ideal base from which to explore Devon and the south-west of England.

Things to do in the Area

The accommodation is situated down a quiet lane leading to the centre of the hamlet and to a sandy cove safe for bathing, with a small kiosk selling refreshments in the season. On the way to the beach, the Thatched Tavern, set in lovely gardens, offers cream teas, bar snacks as well as restaurant meals. On the main road (approx. 4 mins walk) there is a post box and public telephone and a regular bus service to Teignmouth and Torquay (4 to 5 miles each way). 

Stokeinteignhead Village

• Approximately 1.5 miles away, has a 12th century church, pub and restaurants and is a lovely walk on a summer's day.

Babbacombe Model Village

• A delight to both young and old, just ten minutes drive away.

Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve

• From this reserve (approx. 25 mins drive by car) you can see the birds on the Exe Estuary and visit the Study Centre.

Torquay

• A lively resort with its beaches, boat trips, leisure centre, a cinema, theatre, pubs and restaurants, indoor ten pin bowling / quasar, pedestrianised shopping centre and many other attractions and amusements.

Teignmouth

• A quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, with award winning beaches, a safe modern play area for children, outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-golf, theatre and pedestrianised shopping area.

 
There are lots of places of interest:- quaint villages like Cockington with its thatched cottages, horse drawn carriage rides and tiny church, just 15 minutes away.
Exeter has a wonderful Cathedral and underground passages as well as an array of shops and much, much more. It is approximately 20 miles away.

Dartmoor is also 20 miles away and is famous for its ponies, sheep, wide open spaces and pretty villages. Dartmoor is ideal for walking or riding.
