The result is acres of secluded wild areas including woodland, meadows, ponds and streams, nature at its best. Apart from being a birdwatchers paradise we can boast a multitude of wildlife – in fact your own nature reserve.The attractive village of Hawkchurch is within 2 miles and Axminster less than 3 miles away.An English Tourism Council 4* self-catering property.

About Sandford Cottage

Sandford Cottage is located on Southmoor Farm close to the village of Hawkchurch near Axminster, South East Devon (view enlarged photograph).

The very secluded and peaceful holiday cottage was rebuilt in 1989 to the original design with local stone, solid walls and exposed low timber beamed ceilings.

Accomodation comprises of an open-plan kitchen and lounge, modern kitchen units, refrigerator, oven, microwave oven, pine circular table and chairs, pine dresser and tiled floor. Also installed is a washing machine, tumble dryer and a work top freezer. The lounge area is tastefully furnished with cream leather settee and armchair, television and video etc and has a large inglenook fireplace with a "Villager" wood-burner. A staircase rising from the lounge area takes you to the bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and bedroom furniture. This in turn leads to the shower room and toilet.

Heating should it be required, is supplied by the wood-burner (wood supplied without charge), night storage heater and supplemented by an electric radiator. Electricity is supplied by meter (£1 coins).
