The Farmhouse is the original house for Sherrill Farm. More than 300 years old it still contains many original features including large slate flag-stoned floors in the kitchen and hall, inglenooks, one with the original bread oven. It has however, been very comfortably updated to meet 21st century living standards!
The Farmhouse is a large, spacious house sleeping 14-20 people, making it very suitable for dual family holidays or large parties of friends.
The main lounge is large enough to accommodate all guests and contains comfortable sofas, armchairs and a large woodburner. There is a second cosier lounge, featuring a lovely Victorian fireplace with hand-painted tiles. Each lounge has a music system, a large flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD-player and free WiFi.
There is a big dining room with massive farmhouse pine dining table plus a smaller table in the kitchen. The kitchen as you would expect is well equipped to cater for a large number of guests with cookers, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster etc. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with additional fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Two further rooms complete the ground floor; a double bedroom and guest toilet. The bedroom has a large 5ft double bed, an en suite shower room and toilet with underfloor heating. It can be made into a family room with the addition of 2 single beds if required.
Upstairs are six bedrooms:
*One with a 5ft antique four-poster double bed with en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle & toilet
*One double with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath & toilet
*One room with 4 single beds,
*One room with twin beds
*Two rooms with 3 single beds in each, one with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath & toilet.
Finally, there is a separate family bathroom with shower over bath & toilet.
To the rear of The Farmhouse is a private lawned garden with a good-sized patio overlooked by chestnut trees with sufficient space and seating three BBQs and all guests.
Sherrill Farm is a small complex of 13 cottages on a 17-acre estate in beautiful countryside close to Dartmoor and the Cornish border. Guests have access to a wide range of leisure facilities open all year round including an indoor heated pool with jacuzzi and sauna, a games barn with pool, table tennis, table football and skittles. Outdoors, there is a tennis court, well-stocked fishing lakes (mirror carp and tench) and a childrens play area.
