Four character cottages, all with log fires, converted from a former farm within the Exmoor National Park. The cottages are surrounded by three acres of enchanting gardens, including a wildlife pond and a delightful walk up and around Humphrey's Hill. The cottages are in the small village of Challacombe and there is a friendly local shop (with post office) and an Inn serving good food and real ales, both within a short walk (300 yards). There are excellent walks on the hills all around. Challacombe is ideally located to explore the spectacular north Devon coastline and the heart of Exmoor. THE FARMHOUSE is our largest cottage and sleeps six people very comfortably in three upstairs bedrooms. There is a large sitting room downstairs, with stone inglenook fireplace, a spacious dining room and a traditional well-equipped kitchen with Rayburn, electric cooker, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker, etc. There is a bathroom/WC and shower room/WC upstairs, and a downstairs laundry room (with washing machine, dryer, iron & ironing board) with WC. INGLENOOK COTTAGE is next to the Farmhouse. There is a large sitting room downstairs with inglenook fireplace and dining area and a separate gallery kitchen with a stable door to an outside patio. There are two bedrooms upstairs (one with a period fireplace) to sleep four people and a bathroom with WC. THE GATEHOUSE is opposite the Farmhouse. There is a large open-plan living room downstairs, with beamed ceiling, log stove, dining area and kitchen, and three bedrooms upstairs, sleeping up to five, with a bathroom/WC. GARDEN COTTAGE is beside the Gatehouse and is all on one level, ideal for those who may have difficulties with stairs. There is a large open-plan living room, with beamed ceilings, log fire and French doors to a private garden; two bedrooms sleeping up to four people and a shower room/WC.
