Tanglin is a detached bungalow with a large garden on a quiet road and a mere 3 minutes walk from the sandy beach. Widemouth Bay (as recommended in the good beach guide) has fantastic sand, surfing and rock pools. An ideal location for families with nearby amenities & plenty of parking. Tanglin is a light and airy detached non-estate bungalow, perfect for relaxed holidays or as a base for the more strenuous activities such as surfing , walking or cycling. It offers the convenience of nearby beach and facilities whilst giving the chance of peaceful evenings. Tanglin has a conventional layout with the benefit of a large hallway separating the lounge / diner and separate kitchen at the front of the house from the bedrooms at the back of the house. This layout is great for families with younger children as parents won't have to tiptoe around the house once the children are in bed. A proper cot, highchair and changing mat are provided for families with babies or toddlers. The evenings are very quiet and so children will not be disturbed even if they go to bed early. The lack of stairs provide extra reassurance for those with young children who may wake and wander in the night. The large garden is on three sides of the house giving children plenty of space to run around and offers more privacy than the beach as well as being more sheltered and gives the chance to get out of the sun should you wish. The bungalow and garden's total area is about a quarter of an acre - quite different from most holiday accommodation. Widemouth Sands (The North Beach at Widemouth Bay) is recommended in the MCS Good Beach Guide offering something for everyone. There is a large sandy area with rocky reefs either side and fascinating rock formations, perfect for rock pooling. The beach has a "no-dog" by-law during the summer months which has obvious advantages for cleanliness and family enjoyment. Coastal paths provide great walks in both directions. There are also a choice of paths going inland through woodland towards the restored Bude canal if you tire of the beach. A local shop just 400m away combined with an award winning freehouse pub just 600m away means that you might not even have to use the car until it's time to leave!
