Park Farm Cottages are situated in the small coastal village of Trewarmett in North Cornwall, near the famous village of Tintagel, with fantastic panoramic views of the coastline and less than 1 mile from a sandy surfing beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The cottages were converted from the original Farmhouse of Park Farm - a working Cornish farm from pre-17th Century right up until the latter half of the 20th Century, and parts of the cottages themselves date back to the 17th Century. They are built of local slate in the traditional Cornish style and have been lovingly restored by ourselves, adding the modern conveniences without, we hope, spoiling the "Olde Worlde" charm. The cottages sit at the top of Trebarwith Valley - a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic coastline including Port Isaac Bay and Trebarwith Strand. The spectacular scenery makes this an all year round destination; we offer weekly holidays (Saturday to Saturday) during high season (June to September), and in addition a range of short breaks during low season (October to May). The accommodation consists of two separate, fully equipped self-catering holiday cottages, each sleeping 4 people in 2 bedrooms. Internally, the cottages maintain their original Cornish cottage character but with all the modern conveniences (Sky Digital, DVD, microwave, etc.) to make for a comfortable stay. The two cottages, Haywain and Crowsnest, were converted from the original old farmhouse of Park Farm, and are now split into two private self-contained cottage apartments. Both have superb views of the Atlantic Ocean; Crowsnest with its seaward facing balcony, and Haywain with its sheltered patio, private garden and sea-facing conservatory. Park Farm Cottages are less than 1 mile from the sandy beach of Trebarwith, popular across Cornwall for its dramatic cliff scenery and excellent surf.
During the summer season, it is ideal for swimming, surfing or just lazing in the sun. With lifeguards, surfing lessons and beach cafes, Trebarwith is one of the nicest beaches on which to enjoy the Cornish sun. During the winter, Trebarwith becomes a more desolate, dramatic and romantic location, with huge waves crashing onto its shores. Perched on the side of the cliff is the Port William Inn, where you can enjoy a drink or meal with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean from the warmth of indoors, complete with log fire. Park Farm is located in the small rural village of Trewarmett that consists largely of traditional slate built cottages, which were built to house farm workers and the quarrymen who worked in the slate quarries around this area. The village inn, where you can enjoy a meal or quiet drink, is a 2 minute walk away. About 1 mile away is Tintagel with its world famous castle, legendary home of King Arthur, Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. Tintagel is also home to the 14th Century "Old Post Office", the 900 year of Church of St. Materiana, as well as a plethora of shops, inns and restaurants.
