Situated in a quiet Porthleven, Cornwall cul-de-sac, this beuatiful terraced cottage is perfectly positioned for a relaxing holiday in the historic fishing village of Porthleven.
Built recently using local materials including natural slate, local Cornish Granite, the cottage in Porthleven is as beautiful inside as outside. Oak flooring has been installed throughout the ground floor. Carpets have been fitted to the upstairs. The whole house has been decorated by an interior designer to ensure that an incredibly high standard has been reached.
Accommodation (to sleep up to six people)
Entrance hall with stairs to first floor. Ground floor, with oak flooring throughout. Light and spacious open plan sitting room and well equipped fitted breakfast kitchen. Cloakroom, W.C. and basin. Conservatory, with French doors leading to: Enclosed courtyard garden with a barbecue and garden furniture. First floor with carpets. Bedroom one with double bed and spacious wardrobe. Bedroom two with two single beds and large chest of drawers. Bathroom with bath, shower, W.C. and basin.
The house is equipped with: A colour T.V., DVD Player, CD Radio cassette player. Dishwasher, washing machine, oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Central heating and double-glazing. Double sofa bed in the sitting room to enable up to six people to stay.
Local Attractions:
Just a few minutes walk from the house you will find magnificent sea views, Porthleven's 3 mile beach and the historic cobbled harbour, with several gift, craft and book shops, galleries and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Local seafood is of course a speciality and if you fancy cooking your own, fresh fish can be purchased from the award winning Quayside fish or visit the bait and tackle shop for equipment to catch your own. There are three public houses in Porthleven, including The Atlantic Inn, which affords panoramic views of Mounts Bay, and has excellent home cooked food.
As you take the walk to the harbour you will enter into part of Porthleven's history. Streets lined with fisherman's cottages and net lofts. Local farms mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1085 AD. The Ship Inn was used by smugglers, and tunnels from the caves at the west of the harbour led to Methleigh Manor, these are now blocked off. The contraband was stored under the floor of the manor kitchen.
There are many coastal walks around the area, including the lovely peaceful walk over the cliffs and National Trust land to unique Loe Bar pool, England's largest fresh water lake, and the Penrose estate.

Porthleven is the most southerly port in mainland Britain and an excellent base for exploring Cornwall.
The market town of Helston, gateway to the beautiful Lizard peninsular, with its spectacular coves, is only two miles away.
The beautiful Helford River is within easy reach.
St. Michaels Mount is approx. a 10 minute drive away.
St. Ives and Falmouth are approx. a 25 minute drive away.
In less than an hour you could visit The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Flambards theme park and The National Seal Sanctuary are both just a short drive away.
The Scilly Isles are just a short flight from Penzance which is 15 minutes away.
