We have not long finished restoring this lovely four bedroomed Victorian semi detached home, in the famous Cornish fishing village of Padstow; sympathetically (we hope) adding two en suites, opening up the ground floor and adding a downstairs loo, and of course the all important central heating with gushings of hot water.... Built in 1865, Oak Terrace boasts unparalleled views over the old town, harbour and estuary. It has a lovely south facing front garden with lawn, mature shrubs and palm trees. The house is reached via a private made up footpath, 30 metres from St Saviours Lane above, which continues past the house down through the garden into Duke Street in the centre of town. Because of its unique position the house benefits from perfect peace and quiet even in the summer season, fabulous views, and yet is less than two minutes from the habour area with its shops, pubs and restaurants. The front door and vestibule opens to the hallway with a good sized carpeted lounge, slate fireplace, TV etc and bay window overlooking the front garden and estuary. Stairs to first floor. Beyond the stairs, the wooden floored hallway opens to a large dining area with brick built fireplace, downstairs cloakroom and washhand basin, and a window to the rear courtyard. The modern fitted kitchen beyond, with floor tiles and a range of Neff appliances, opens to a spacious utility area at the rear of the property with John Lewis automatic washing machine and condensing tumble drier. The back stable door from the kitchen opens onto a slate flagged courtyard with some attractive potted plants, and steps to the private pathway. The first floor has a large front twin bedroom with en suite shower, wc and wash basin, heated towel rail/radiator, and splendid views from the two sash windows over the town and harbour. At the rear, there are two further bedrooms: one small double room with window over the rear coutyard, and one small room with bunk beds over the kitchen extension. All rooms have fitted carpets. A compact flight of stairs provides access to the second floor in the roof with a double front master bedroom suite with wrought iron bedstead, and double glazed dormer windows and window seat. The view from this commanding position is really something to behold, and a fabulous start to the day. There is an en suite shower room with wc and wash basin, small roof window to the rear, and heated towel rail/radiator. At the rear is a carpeted cottage style family bathroom with toilet, separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin and heated towel rail/radiator. Our changeover day is Saturday, and we can offer short breaks or long weekends out of season. All bed linen and towels are provided - you only need bring your beach towels! With the combination of full gas central heating throughout and wireless broadband there's really no excuse not to take your office to the seaside at any time of year! Oak Terrace really is a beautifully tranquil spot from which to enjoy Padstow, and its surrounding area. Special Features
