Sussex Holiday Cottages comprises three luxury properties in the heart of West Sussex, yet within striking distance (3 miles) of Horsham town centre: Hards Farm Cottage, Walnut Barn and Walnut Cottage. Each property is very distinctive in style and feel, and has been awarded a 5* rating by Visit Britain, reflecting the quality of accommodation, facilities and hospitality provided. The properties are situated in a delightful courtyard with gated entrances, affording a high degree of privacy from the outside world. Hards Farm Cottage is a 16th century, timber-framed Sussex farmhouse. It has four generous sized bedrooms, sleeping up to 8 - two with kingsize doubles, one with twins, one with a single which can be changed for a double. There are three bathrooms (one en-suite to the master, a family bathroom, and a family showerroom). The farmhouse kitchen is furnished and equipped beautifully and boasts 4-oven AGA, integrated dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer and oak farmhouse kitchen with leather high-backed chairs. There is a more formal dining room which is heavily beamed, with rich red walls with gold fleurs de lys, and magnificent inglenook fireplace with working log fire. The sitting room is a lovely light and airy room with working log fire place, widescreen tv with Bose surround sound, SKY, DVD/CD, and leads into a splendid conservatory with further dining table, chairs and sofa, overlooking the extensive gardens. Outside, there is a private terrace with barbecue and hot-tub for the exclusive use of the guests of Hards Farm Cottage. Laundry facilities are located in the laundry room adjacent to the kitchen, with washing machine, tumble dryer, drying racks, iron and ironing board. Walnut Barn is a 16th century, timber framed Sussex barn which has been converted into a luxury self-catering property providing four bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping up to 8. Three of the bedrooms have King-size doubles (the master bedroom boasts vaulted ceiling with a splendid tapestry overhanging the bed): one of the bedrooms is a large twin bedded room (on ground floor). There are three luxury bathrooms, each with bath (two of them feature roll-tops), separate walk-in shower, WC and basin. The floors are of oak boards and flagstones, adorned with beautiful Turkish rugs. The large farmhouse kitchen with its enormous table, is well equpped with quality appliances (range cooker, American style fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer). The cupboards are well stocked with quality crockery, cutlery and glassware and kitchen utensils. The sitting room has an attractive inglenook fireplace with log-burning stove, widescreen TV with SKY, DVD/CD, surround sound system, hifi. Walnut Cottage is a charming, luxury two-bedroom cottage, that has been renovated to a high standard and awarded a 5* rating by Visit Britain. The master bedroom has a beam ceiling and offers en-suite wc and basin. In addition there is a family bathroom with bath with power shower over, wc, basin and bidet. The
galley kitchen is well equipped with oven and hob, microwave,
dishwasher, fridge, further fridge/freezer and breakfast bar, good
quality crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils . The second bedroom is a comfortable single. The
sitting room has a log-burning stove, widescreen tv with SKY, surround
sound and CD/DVD, hifi, comfortable seating and a dining area. Laundry
facilities are located in the laundry room adjacent to Walnut Cottage
with washing machine, tumble dryer, drying racks, ironing board and iron. We provide bedding, linen and towels for all of our guests. Our linen is finest quality Egyptian cottage. Our bedding has mostly duck and down filling. Our towels, bath mats etc. are white, fluffy cotton. These are not to be taken outside the property. Guests are asked to bring their own towels for swimming and hot-tub use. Swimming pool Visitors to Sussex Holiday Cottages can enjoy use of the heated swimming pool at the property. This is maintained by the owners and is open, subject to weather, between May and September. Parking There is plenty of secure parking within the courtyard setting. Gardens Visitors have access to the extensive gardens at the property, which contain an attractive pond. Pets Pets may be brought to the property only with the express permission of the owners, and will be charged for. Sussex has a beautiful coastline and countryside, ranging from the wild and rugged South Downs, to lush green fields and winding lanes.
