These four cottages, grouped around the old farm courtyard, are in a quiet setting on the edge of Chichester Harbour, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Visitors have access to our private water frontage, 700 metres from the cottages. Canoes and sailing dinghies can be launched at all states of the tide. The views up to the old fishing port of Bosham, or down towards the harbour entrance and the Isle of Wight are spectacular. Artists love to come here to paint. For walkers and birdwatchers there are footpaths extending around the harbour. We have a wonderful environment, which we try to enhance with our Green policies and conservation work. At Cobnor we welcome wheelchair users and are proud of our accessible footpath along the seawall which offers unrivalled views of the harbour. Walk around Cobnor and you will see our unusual Jacobs sheep, with black lambs in the Spring, grazing under the sea-bank. There are ducks and chickens to visit, and an aviary with beautifully coloured budgerigars. As for the wildlife, deer, stoats, rabbits and foxes are often seen, and you may spot one of the harbour's resident seals from our shore! The range of birdlife is spectacular: little owls and woodpeckers come to the courtyard...kestrels and buzzards are regulars...a avast array of waders, ducks, herons and egrets can be seen at Cobnor ... and we have bird books to help you identify them! All cottages are centrally heated for year round use. There is a separate laundry room. The cottages are beautifully furnished and fully equipped, the courtyard and gardens maintained to a high standard. Glorious Goodwood, Arundel and Portsmouth (with its historic ships) are all nearby. Within walking distance is a great village pub offering good food. Locally there are many other fine hostelries as well as good Chinese and Indian food. Many excellent golf courses are within easy reach.A day trip to London takes 1hr 15 mins by train from Havant. The cottages are located 2 miles from the A259 with bus routes, and 2.5 miles from Nutbourne railway station. The nearest shops (including excellent farm shops, P.O., fish & chips, Co-op etc, are 2.5 miles away. There is a large Tesco 6 miles away near Chichester.
