The immediate area offers many opportunities for interesting walks through woodland and along by-ways. The attractive village of Woodchurch and the Rare Breeds Centre are within walking distance. There are golf courses and riding schools nearby. It is an excellent location for trips to the ancient town of Ryde, the cathedral city of Canterbury, the county town of Maidstone and the famous Leeds Castle. Tenterden has a steam railway and for a low cost you can do a day trip to France by ferry or through the tunnel. There are also numerous National Trust Properties, Gardens and Castles to visit in the area and bird sanctuaries at Dungeness and Rye harbour.The Stable is personally serviced and maintained by its proprietors who live in the adjacent house.
