There are many walks from the cottage, together with Hemstead Forest, which is a 5 minute drive away. The picturesque village of Benenden is only 0.5 mile from the cottage; it has two pubs, a general store, a post office and a butchers. There are many other pretty villages and character towns in the area, including Cranbrook and Tenterden with their good selection of pubs, restaurants, tearooms and leisure facilities. Close to the Kent and East Sussex borders this is an ideal location for visiting the many places of interest including Sissinghurst Gardens, Bodiam Castle, Bewl Water, Rye and the south coast.
