Kitty's Loft, at Great Appleford Barns, is situated in a quiet lane between Godshill and Chale Green. It is one of a community of seven privately converted barns. Close to Catherine's Down, the second highest point on the island, a walk to the top exposes a 360 degree panoramic view. The accommodation is set in an area designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and the original dwellings are believed to date back to Doomsday times. The accommodation adjoins the owner's property (Long Barn) and is separated by an archway.Fully self-contained with its own entrance, the ground floor has a well-equipped large kitchen/diner, with a larder freezer, cooker with ceramic hob and double oven, washing machine and microwave, together with a good range of crockery, cooking and eating utensils.The lounge is comfortably equipped, with a large sofa, armchair and colour television and video. There is a stone feature wall, which has a non-working fireplace. From the full length barn-style window there are relaxing views of the garden and surrounding countryside. The holiday let garden is equipped with a table and chairs, together with use of the owner's barbecue for those al-fresco days.The shower room is fully tiled and has a power shower and glazed cubicle, and toilet.Upstairs, the bedrooms are equipped with tasteful pine furnishings. There is a galleried, twin-bedded room with Velux roof windows. The larger master bedroom with double aspect windows, has a double bed. All beds are supplied with duvets. Central heating and electricity are included in the tariff, as are towels and linen.Locally, the nearest village store and post office is at Chale Green. The pretty village of Godshill has several tea rooms/gardens, an old Smithy, and The Royal Essex Inn where Queen Victoria enjoyed afternoon tea.
