Situated on the edge of one of the Isle of Wight’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Marvel Cottage enjoys stunning views across trout lakes to the downs beyond. Centrally located the cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the Island and enjoy its many amenities, and is within easy reach of all the Island’s best resorts. Newport, the Island’s ‘capital’ with its shops, multiplex cinema, restaurants and pubs is a five minute drive away. The yachting centre of Cowes is only fifteen minutes drive away and ample storage for sails, dinghies etc can be provided if required.With direct access to the Stenbury Trail, Marvel Farm lies at the heart of the Island’s extensive network of bridleways, cycle and footpaths, which provide access on foot, bicycle or horse to some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the Island. None of the Island’s beaches are more than a short drive away through some of Britain’s finest scenery, including the popular surfing beach at Compton Bay on the Island’s "Bone Coast". Here the keen eyed may be able to find remains of the Island’s most ancient inhabitants – Dinosaurs!Bicycles are available for hire and for the riding enthusiast we can offer stabling and or grass livery.For those interested in fly-fishing, the Island has, until now, been an unlikely place to consider as a holiday destination. However, in 2001 the lakes at Marvel Farm, which extend to some five and a half acres, received comprehensive renovation and are now operated as the Island’s premier private trout fishery.Membership of the ‘Marvel Flyfishers’ is strictly limited in order to avoid the possibility of overcrowding and is available only to season ticket holders and to holiday residents of Marvel Cottage. Catch and release is permitted and is required in the case of all brown trout caught.
