A historic town cottage built in 1782 in the heart of Brading. Brading dates back to at least 1683. This ancient little town is pleasantly built up a hillside towards the 7th Century Parish Church St Mary’s, said to be the oldest church on the island. Local attractions include Roman Villa, 2 Manor Houses, wax museum, dolls museum, 3 public houses, several cafés, post office, railway station, antique shop and more. The old town quay, RSPB marshes nature reserve golf course and over 70 footpaths across the stunning countryside to explore. The cottage itself nestles amongst some of the oldest buildings. It has been lovingly restored with 4 bedrooms and every comfort, truly a home from home. The back garden is a typical country garden retreat safe for all ages. The cottage itself has been lavished with many little extras by the owners Jan and Don Hegarty including many games indoor and outdoor, varieties for all ages: books, videos, tapes and CDs, plus a needlework set to sew on that loose button. Literature for every place of interest is included, plus books of interest about the island including folklore, and ghost stories to snuggle up to. A perfect read for a cosy night in, with exposed beams and low ceilings. Why not take the opportunity to ask Jan to baby-sit, whilst you have the long awaited night out without the kids. Whatever your needs, Jan will be at the other end of the phone for advice or help in any situation. Who could resist this most perfect opportunity?
