"Gyleen" is an architect designed, spacious, brick bungalow built in
1959, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on high ground 2 miles (4Km) west
of the centre of Winchester and overlooks the South Winchester Golf
Club course. There is a bus stop 350 yards (375m) from the
bungalow and the railway station is in the city on the main line from
London (Waterloo) to Southampton. Bournemouth is about 30 miles
(50Km) south west, Salisbury is only 20 miles (32Km) west, Portsmouth
25 miles (40Km) south east and Southampton is 11 miles (18Km) south
with its links to the Isle of Wight. The New Forest is within half an
hour's drive, but there is much to see in Winchester, the ancient
capital of Wessex, including Winchester Cathedral, the tomb of Jane
Austen, and the surrounding countryside. Local shops include a
sub post office newsagent and grocer, butcher,and a hairdresser as well
as a superstore just a mile away. The sitting/dining room is fitted with easy chairs and a four seater sofa, dining table with 6 chairs, bookcase unit, radio, colour television and VCR. There is a large picture window facing south west overlooking the rear one acre garden, as well as French windows leading to the sun room and the terrace. The kitchen is well equipped with wall storage units, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a breakfast table with 4 stools. Access to the utility room with the washing machine/dryer and another lavatory. There are 2 bedrooms. The larger has a king size bed and a corner shower unit. The smaller has twin divan beds. Child's cot and /or Z-bed are available. The bathroom has an overhead shower within the bath, pedestal wash basin and low level WC suite. The entrance hall has a coats cupboard , airing cupboard and a payphone. The bungalow is well insulated, completely double glazed and fully centrally heated. The sitting room and bedrooms are fully carpeted. The large informal, one acre garden is shared with the owners, contains mature trees and shrubs, a summer house and a small, fenced pond.
