Lynwood is a beautiful Edwardian house full of character with lovely gardens to the side and front. There is garaging for two cars and space on the drive for additional cars. At the back is a secluded walled courtyard with climbing roses and raised flower beds; a great area for sunbathing or eating outdoors if desired. It is on the edge of the village of Lyndhurst and within walking distance of the village shops and restaurants.
Lyndhurst is an ideal base for exploring the New Forest and the historic towns of Winchester and Salisbury. The Beaulieu River with the National Motor Museum at Lord Montagu's Palace House is also not to be missed. The sandy beaches at Mudeford Bay are only 25 minutes away, but it is really the ponies, little pigs and donkeys roaming free in the Forest which capture the heart.
The house has four bedrooms, two with four poster double beds, one with twin beds, and a third double bedroom which also contains a large cot. There is a large bathroom with toilet and bidet, a shower room with wash basin, and a separate toilet with wash basin. Downstairs there is a dining room seating eight comfortably and a very large drawing room with television, video and DVD players. The kitchen has an electric oven and is fully equiped with coffee machine, toaster, blender, etc. There is also a utility room with fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave and a second separate toilet with wash basin.
- All bed linen is supplied, but guests are requested to provide their own towels.
- Dogs are welcomed if well behaved at an additional cost of £10 per week, but should not be allowed on the furniture or upstairs, and should be taken for walks so they do not pee in the garden.
- Normal change over day is Friday, on which guests should arrive after 2pm and leave before 10am, but alternative days might be possible.
- A gardener calls regularly to cut the lawns and attend to the flower beds, so cars should not be parked on the grass.
