Lower Bassibones Farm is a traditional brick and flint period farmhouse surrounded by timbered barns, one of which has been sympathetically converted to provide maximum comfort whilst retaining the old world charm. The farm is situated in the Chiltern Hills, an area officially designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and stands within its own 65 acres of agricultural land which is grazed by rare breeds of sheep, cattle and poultry. The Chiltern Hills are renowned for their beautiful walks and cycle routes, the farm is located on the Chilterns Heritage Route and is close to both the ancient paths of the Ridgeway and The Icknield Way. The farm has facilities for safely storing cycles and a drying room for outer clothes during inclement weather. The accommodation is in an open-plan form and comprises one double bedroom with balcony overlooking the main living area and a separate ground floor twin bedroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary electrical appliances. The bath/shower room is accessed directly from the communual living area. There is a small office with telephone and fax facilities. The lounge/dining area comprises the central bays of the original barn with heavily timbered walls and ceiling. It is furnished with traditional country furniture and is decorated with colonial African artifacts from the 19th Century. Heating is in the form of underfloor heating. The old wagon entrance has been converted into full length windows which overlook The Barn's private patio and lawned garden where guests are free to relax and barbecue. The Barn is approached by a private driveway and leads to a parking area exclusively for use by guests. Lower Bassibones Farm is situated at Lee Common (also known as Lee Clump) approx 3 miles from Chesham and 4 miles from the historic market town of Amersham. The nearest railway station is at Great Missenden.
