Holbeck Ghyll Lodge, originally the Lodge House to Lord Lonsdale's country home, is a traditional Lakeland dwelling constructed of Lakeland Stone.  Over a century old, it features an enclosed, lawned garden, safe for children and dogs, and ideal for a summer barbeque. 

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Holbeck Ghyll Lodge is ideally placed only minutes from Ambleside and Windermere, yet in a picturesque rural setting.  The charming village of Troutbeck is close by, with the 16th Century pub The Queen's Head. 

One of the well-known walks in the area, climbing Wansfell to descend into Ambleside, is close by, and for the more energetic, water sports  on Lake Windermere are available from the Low Wood Hotel a short distance away.  Other traditional Country Pubs serving good food are scattered throughout the area, providing plenty of opportunities for trying the locally brewed beers.

Holbeck Ghyll Lodge is available from April to October, with weekly lets starting at £410.

In addition to a fully equipped, oak fitted dining kitchen, the living areas of Holbeck Ghyll Lodge include a comfortable living/dining room with an open fire, television and video. 

The bedrooms consist of one double bedded room with en suite facilities (shower, toilet and basin) that are also accessible from the hall, and two twin bedded rooms.  If extra beds are required, there is a sofa bed and a single stowaway bed. There is also a cot available. The main bathroom is fitted with bath, electric shower, toilet and basin.

There is a storage area for outdoor clothing, an electric cooker, a fridge, a microwave, an automatic washing machine, a tumble drier, dishwasher and a deep freeze, as well as a radio and CD player.

Outside there is ample parking room for three cars, and there is a barbeque and outdoor furniture for your use.

For the colder weather there are storage heaters (included in the price) and electric fires in addition to the open fire. Elecricity is metered for £1 coins. Coal available for the open fire at £4 a bag.

The house is fully equiped with cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils. Each bed has a duvet and two pillows. (There is no bedding provided for the sofa or stowaway beds).

You will need to bring your own sheets, duvet covers and towels (tea towels provided). Bed linen and towels are available for hire.
