And a few minutes walk in the opposite direction, down the hill, will bring you to the shores of Lake Windermere at Bowness where lake cruises begin. All in all, this is a perfect holiday base, especially for the first time visitor, for touring the wonderful English Lake District, whether your chosen method of transport is by car, train, coach, boat, bicycle or on foot! And now to the accommodation itself. We pride ourselves in presenting an extremely high standard of accommodation - newly furnished and with every moderm comfort - which has resulted in the award of 3 stars by the National Quality Assurance Standard of the English Tourist Council. The cottage accommodates up to four people and is furnished in a contemporary style. Relax in the lounge on the comfy leather sofas, after a busy day's sightseeing. If there's nothing worth watching on TV, there's a selection of videos suitable for all ages and tastes for you to enjoy. Alternatively, you can listen to your favourite CD's on the hi-fi. And what could be nicer on a summer's evening, than to open the french doors and step outside onto the secluded patio area to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple? Of course at other times of the year, you will welcome the homely feel of the living flame gas fire set into the polished black granite hearth. The spacious kitchen-dining room is fully equipped to make self catering a pleasure. It is fitted with modern units and appliances including a split level cooker with five ring gas hob and electric fan assisted double oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer-drier, iron and ironing board. We also provide adequate supplies of cleaning products and tea towels for your use. There are sufficient utensils to enable you to prepare your favourite dish from beans on toast to a gourmet meal, but if you don’t feel like cooking, there’s a wide choice of restaurants and bars nearby offering a wide variety of different cuisines such as Chinese, Indian, Thai, Swiss, Italian, Greek as well as traditional English, to name but a few! We've put together a comprehensive Information Pack to help you choose not only somewhere to eat, but also all manner of visitor attractions to make your stay enjoyable. Upstairs you will find the two bedrooms - one double and one twin. The twin room contains full size 3' wide beds. Both rooms have ample storage facilities and we provide a hair drier, 2 pin shaver adaptor and radio alarm clock to save you having to bring your own. We also provide duvets and pillows, extra blankets and bed linen, all included within the price. Last, but not least, is the fully tiled bathroom. There
is a bath with electric shower over, and the added luxury of a heated
towel rail. Towels can be hired for an additional charge of £5.00

Local telephone calls We can provide the use of a highchair for our younger guests, but unfortunately we are unable to provide a cot. The cottage is available all year round and we have a locally based manager who can be contacted for advice or assistance should you encounter any problems during your stay.
