It is in a wonderful rural location at Skelwith Bridge, but Ambleside with shops, restaurants, etc. is only a 5 minute drive away. There is a hotel which serves bar meals and has a restaurant only a 5 minute stroll from the apartments.
The location is a great base for walking and for exploring the Lake District.
Skelwith Force is just a five minute walk away. The level path continues along the riverside to Elterwater, with picture-postcard views all the way.
There are so many magnificent fell walks for the more energetic, both in the immediate locality or further afield. Climb England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike: Great Gable or Helvellyn. Close at hand are the Langdale Pikes, Bowfell or many more.
