Patio doors lead on to the spacious , furnished veranda with incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Artlegarth is bounded by dry stone walls, fringed on one side by a screen of trees, with driveways and ample parking.  An ornamental pond is frequently visited by Heron and wild ducks .A charming stream flows through our small wood. There is a small children’s play area overlooking the sheep grazing in the field.

The fells and footpaths that surround Artlegarth lodges are a paradise for walking and cycling, whether your idea of a good walk is a brisk mountain climb or a meander along a gentle valley. Walkers can access the hills direct from Artlegarth. The Howgills offer unrivalled walking with spectacular views in an uncrowded area
