Grade II listed cottage in Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Hadrian's Wall National Trail and Cycleway

3 Bedrooms    3 Bathrooms    Sleeps 6    Children Welcome    Pets Allowed    No Smoking

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at our comfortable and homely Grade II listed cottage on Hadrian's Wall offering B&B or self catering cottage rental.

Rosemount Cottage is an charming self-catering holiday cottage, or alternatively B&B accommodation is offered, located in the village of Burgh by Sands surrounded by the lovely countryside of the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our house originally dates back to the mid-18th century. Hadrian’s Wall passed through the front garden and roman stones and shoes have been discovered here. The accommodation has been completely refurbished in 2008 and offers spacious and comfortable guest rooms all with en-suite bathrooms, LCD televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. The cottage also benefits from a fully equipped kitchen, sitting room and luxury spa room complete with sauna, whirlpool bath and body shower.

Burgh by Sands has a rich history. The line of Hadrian’s Wall runs right through the village and there were forts and watchtowers here. The church was built by the Normans and Burgh was often involved in conflicts between the Scots and the English – King Edward I died on Burgh Marsh and Bonnie Prince Charlie passed through here. Today Burgh is a peaceful village and was winner of the ‘Village of the Year’ award for Northern England in 2003. You will find us on the Main Street in the village just 250 metres from The Greyhound Inn.

Hadrian’s Wall National Trail and Cycleway, The Cumbrian Coastal Path and The Reivers Cycle Route pass right outside the cottage. Walkers and cyclists are most welcome to stay at Rosemount Cottage whether as a base for exploring the local area or as a stopping off point along the trails and cycleways. We offer flexible arrival & breakfast times, drying facilities, secure cycle storage, packed lunches and free Wi-Fi internet access. We also keep a limited stock of provisions for purchase such as drinks and confectionery and have a first aid kit and puncture repair kit on hand if needed. Families are very welcome and we have a cot and high chair available for the little ones. If travelling by car, off road parking is available – if walking or cycling we can arrange transport of your baggage to your next stopping off point and help with transport arrangements.
