There are splendid views all around but especially southwards towards Derwentwater, the Jaws of Borrowdale, the Coledale and Newlands valleys and Thornthwaite forest. Keswick is within walking distance and offers a variety of specialist shops, especially for the fell walker, a good range of eating houses, a cinema and the 'Theatre-by-the-Lake'. Fell-walking is readily available, various watersports are to hand on Derwentwater, alongside the lake ferry service. There are numerous other activities and places of interest to visit.
