A detached cottage on the Bank of the River Tweed, English Heritage Site of Wark Castle, It has breathtaking views over the Tweed into Scotland. Very tranquil. Watch swans fly by overhead, or the salmon fishing in the Tweed. Near castles and beaches. Clean, cosy and comfortable. Ideal for walking, bird watching, golf, fishing, riding. The property has a sanctuary for disabled wild birds. The cottage has oil central heating. There is a double size wall bed and a Slumberland mattress sofa bed in the main room. The main room can be used to sleep in at night and easily and quickly converts back to the livingroom during the day time. The South facing conservatory to the front has a double sized sofa bed with it's own door and central heating. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen and a shower room There is a patio also to the front of the property. There is another patio behind the cottage, for guests only, overlooking the Tweed. An ideal place to "recharge your batteries "!!! The cottage is 13 miles from the coast in Berwick upon Tweed and halfway between Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne. Visit the castles, historic houses, woollen mills and the hills and valleys of the nearby Cheviot hills. We have the tide crossings for Holy Island .The nearest shop is 2 1/4 miles away. There are pubs and places to eat in nearby Coldstream and Kelso. We do everything we can to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
