A traditional 200-year-old 2 bedroom cottage, with lots of character and atmosphere, beamed sitting room, modern kitchen, bathroom, sheltered sunny garden. Black Chirnells Cottage, located in the heart of the Coquestdale Valley, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, offers every creature comfort for a warm, welcoming stay in Northumbria. The stone-built cottage, once a croft with a mill on the upper floor, was formerly part of the Church's estates. It has a magical atmosphere which wraps itself round everyone who stays here, and combined with the splendid views of the surrounding countryside, has visitors feeling refreshed and revitalised within a few days.   ETC 4 star grading, all creature comforts, centrally heated, recently modernised and very comfortably furnished. Two Bedrooms (3/4) Extra bedroom/living by arrangement and on request (5/6)with log-burning stove. The cottage is ideal for a walking/cycling/bird watching holiday or as a touring base to explore the county. Walks start from the front door to the nearby woods and is close to good pubs and restaurant in Thropton (approx 15 mins walk) and to good golf courses (Linden Hall, Rothbury). A short drive away is Cragside House, with its extensive parks and gardens, while Alnwick, famous for its Castle and Water Garden, is just 20 minutes drive through some of the most spectacular scenery in Northumberland. The Northumberland coast and beaches are easily accessible from the cottage, and the Farne Islands, renowned for birds and seals, is only an hour's drive away. The cottage, recently extended, redecorated and re-furnished, is fully centrally heated throughout and is very warm and cosy. The sitting groom, with its views of the Simonside Hills, has a dining alcove, is comfortably furnished, with colour TV, video, hi-fi, selection of videos, CDs, books and games and a telephone for local and incoming calls. The luxury fitted kitchen is well equipped with all new appliances, ceramic hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher and looks out over neighbouring fields.
