The market town of Wooler, known as the gateway to the Cheviot Hills is 9 miles. Situated on the edge of the National Park the town offers a wide range of shops selling locally produced meat, bread and vegetables, pubs and cafes. The Glendale Show at Wooler takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday, it is popular with both locals and holiday makers. Fishing, shooting (grouse and wild pheasant) and stalking by arrangement. Horse riding – livery available and bike hire nearby. |
