Hope Sike is a one bedroomed cottage, that sleeps two, (plus a cot) located in the farm steading of Scotchcoulthard.
If a little extra privacy or quiet is required. With this in mind ‘Hope Sike’ was created to provide a refuge. It has been described as a “little gem”. From the small entrance hall one enters the living area with stone flagged floor. This room rises high into the pitch and has roof lights and window catching the early morning sun. There is a Victorian open fire rescued from the old farmhouse and bounded by cupboards. In a long recess there is the kitchen with twin sinks, double electric hob, a very sophisticated microwave cum oven cum grill that tells you how to operate it, and a built in fridge with three star freezer compartment. Hope is fully centrally heated.
A large sofa faces the fire and the television. There are French doors with the incredible views across miles of open countryside.
The bedroom has a kingsize bed, which may be split into two singles, and an en suite bathroom with double ended bath.

Scotchcoulthard lies 4 miles north of Hadrian’s Wall at its highest point half way between Carlisle and Newcastle. We are located in the beautiful and unspoilt Northumbrian National Park and have 180 acres of upland farm on which our guests are free to roam.

Scotchcoulthard is run as a holiday cottage business with five cottages sleeping from 1 to 7 and is also a working farm. We have Rare Breed animals including pigs, cows, sheep and a few hens.

We welcome children and pets. There is plenty of space for children to play with a tree house and play area. There is a games room with table tennis, a cd player, toys and games where children can make lots of noise and not disturb the grown ups. We also have an indoor, heated swimming pool.
