Our imaginatively converted single storey holiday cottage was originally a cow byre in the old farmstead of Banktop Farm. We moved to Braeside in 2000 and converted the byre into Stanegate Cottage providing quality luxury accommodation for 2-4 people throughout the year, using natural wood and carefully coordinated furnishings to create a homely atmmosphere.
The living room is very well equipped with colour TV,DVD, video and radio/CD player and a variety of videos and DVDs to play. The thermostatically controlled central heating keeps the cottage cosy on cold days, but you can supplement the heating by lighting the wood burning stove. From the French window, look out over the local Golf course at glorious views of Hadrian;'s Wall country towards the Scottish borders.
The kitchen area is fitted with a calor gas cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine. Great care has been taken to ensure there is sufficient crockery and cooking utensils for you to make a simple or an elaborate meal.
The spacious hallway leads to both bedrooms and the shower room, which has a WC, washbasin, large shower cubicle and heated towel rail.
The two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds, are beautifully furnished with pine furniture and attractive bed linen and accessories. Both have extensive views over the countryside.
The cottage is a perfect base for visiting Hadrian's Wall and it's many sites, the Northumberland National Park and coastline, the Lake Disrict and the Scottish Borders, and also a good central place for a walking holiday in the area.
Please note smoking is not allowed in the cottage.
