From Ferndale Cottage it is a short drive to Barnard Castle’s bustling Market Place and you'll find it’s the centre of Dales life - dozens of pubs, restaurants, museums, galleries and specialist shops. Although near the centre of activities in Teesdale, the cottage is also a haven of peace and quiet.

The secluded garden is a real suntrap and proves to be an ideal place to sit out and relax. For ramblers there’s a fantastic range and variety of walks to choose from, woodland walks, riverside walks, railway walks and complemented by longer distance moorland walks.
