A two bedroom, stone built cottage in the Teesdale village of Mickleton, two miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale and eight miles from Barnard Castle, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Built about 1850, the cottage was refurbished in 2003 to provide a high standard of holiday accommodation, yet retaining many original features. The cottage provides three star self catering accommodation.Accommodation comprises: *Lounge with a beamed ceiling, wood burning stove, colour TV/video and cd/radio. A barn-door leads to the kitchen. *Fitted kitchen/diner (also with beamed ceiling) equipped with table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, cutlery & crockery. *Small conservatory at the rear. *Master bedroom with double bed and pine bedroom suite. *Second bedroom with two single pine beds and pine bedroom suite. *Bathroom with roll-top bath (with additional toilet on ground floor). *Garden and patio to the front.The Cottage is heated throughout by oil central heating . Travel cot and high chair provided and stair gate. Duvets and bed linen provided. (Guests are required to bring their own bathroom and kitchen towels.) Secure storage for bicycles available. Quiet street parking. Well behaved pets by prior arrangement.Local facilities, within easy walking distance from the cottage include the village store/Post Office, the Blacksmith's Arms and Rose and Crown Pubs (both of which serve meals). A regular bus service to both Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle passes through the village.Bankside Cottage is ideally situated for an active holiday or complete relaxation in beautiful, unspoilt countryside, far from the crowds.The extensive network of footpaths and bridleways (including the Pennine Way within 2 miles of the cottage) provide the ideal way to enjoy the rich Variety and tranquillity of Teesdale.
