Our 4 Star holiday cottage enjoys a delightful peaceful setting on our farm just seven miles/fifteen minutes drive from Durham City with its stunning Norman Castle and Cathedral.

Weekly rates vary from £200 in low season to £300 in high season (including all linen, heating etc).

Swallow Cottage is furnished to a high standard and offers traditional beamed ceilings throughout.

There are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) with pine furniture as well as a bathroom with shower and bath. The kitchen is well-equipped with a microwave, fridge/freezer and oven, leading onto a living and dining area with a television, video and CD-player. Leading out from the living area, Swallow Cottage has a lovely patio and garden area complete with patio furniture and BBQ for guests and enjoys lovely views across open farmland.

Guests have shared access to a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room on site and there is also a children’s play area with swings, slide and a sandpit as well as other outdoor toys. Guests with children can request our children’s pack, containing children’s toys, books, videos and equipment (cot, highchair etc).

We also offer a selection of books, games, CDs and videos for those quiet nights in.
Towels and linen are included in the hire charges.

The cottage offers excellent access for the elderly and infirm, with a ramp to the front for access and accommodation all on one level.

Ample safe parking is available to the front of the property and guests are welcome to join in with farm activities, like haymaking.

The Northumberland Coast is well within easy driving range, as are the Durham Dales, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Beamish Open Air Museum.
