Strathmore Barns

Pride of Northumbria 2004 award winning Strathmore Barns holiday cottages has deservedly earned the English tourist council four star rating for self-catering cottages.

The four cottages, Millstone, Butterwick, Foxholes and Thistle Close with four poster beds spar baths natural beamed ceilings and fully equipped kitchins to cater for your every need and are situated on a working farm in the picturesque Northern Dales, with spectacular views of lower Teesdale.

Teesdale is an area of outstanding beauty, with castles, museums, historic towns, spectacular waterfalls and moorland. The area is ideal for walking, fishing, cycling, horse-riding, golf, sailing, canoeing or just relaxing away from the crowds.

Strathmore Barns is centrally located for the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, East Coast, Hadrians Wall, Beamish Museum and the historical cities of York and Durham.


Combined, the cottages can sleep up to a maximum of 22 people at any one time in a variety of combinations. Prices start from around £200 per week
