We are situated in one of England's most fascinating but least explored areas, where you will find a Forest to roam in, a Steam Railway to ride on, a World Heritage site to visit, Castles, Gardens and Stately Homes, and beautiful Countryside to walk or drive through ... all with really good, comfortable accommodation to look forward to coming home to at the end of a full day out and about exploring - what more could you possibly want?! The accommodation has a 'VisitBritain' Rating of Four Stars, so you can be sure that our standards are high and are well-maintained by an Annual Inspection. The self-contained ground-floor accommodation for two people is an annexe to our family home which is well set-back from the road up a tree-lined drive on the edge of the village. The apartment is accessed from its own private, pretty patio-garden which has beautiful views over gently undulating farmland. The apartment is for non-smokers only, is centrally heated throughout, and consists of: Hall Sitting/Dining Room with: beams and open fireplace comfortable easy chairs and pouffe/foot-rest colour TV with teletext/subtitles video recorder with a selection of videos radio up-to-date tourist information and lots of books, puzzles and games good secondary lighting dining table and chairs views into a part of our own garden with well-stocked bird feeders - see how many different birds you can spot just yards away whilst you eat your own meals in the bay window ... Kitchen: Very well-equipped with gas cooker, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, fridge with 3-star freezer compartment, automatic washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and enjoying those views over the pretty countryside mentioned earlier ... Inner Hall with smoke-alarm, leading to: Bedroom (also with that view!) with: Twin beds* bedside table and lights radio/alarm clock ample wardrobe/drawer space dressing table with large mirror and hairdryer additional full-length mirror bed-linen provided, with choice of duvets (hollowfibre) or blankets feather and/or hollowfibre pillows * The beds are not zip-and-lock, but can be pushed together to make a quasi-double with mattress topper and king-size duvet, if required. Bathroom with: electric shower over full-size bath shaver point airing cupboard and clothes airer clean bath mat provided towels available to hire (£2.50 per person per week) Garden: Private patio-garden with garden furniture, parasol and sun-loungers The garden overlooks our paddock to farmland beyond, with views up to the village church nestling peacefully in the hills Disability Access Information: Assistance with luggage, if required, and a familiarisation tour of the accommodation is provided on arrival Mobility impairment: The accommodation is wholely on the ground floor There are two steps down into the garden, and three steps up into the apartment, where handrails are provided There is one shallow step up into the sitting/dining room There is a grab-rail over the bath to facilitate use of the shower A TV 'remote' is provided Hearing impairment: Fax and email are provided for booking procedures Subtitles are available on the TV A vibrating smoke-alarm is available for use under the pillow Visual impairment: A large-print brochure is available Hand- and grab-rails are provided at key points Good levels of lighting are maintained throughout the apartment NB The owner/manager has undergone disability access training, and is always looking to improve access for the disabled - your comments/suggestions are always welcome!
