Our 6 newly converted Barns are on a 600 acre Organic Dairy Farm in a tranquil spot on the Banks of Blithfield Reservoir near the ancient village of Abbots Bromley. We are situated in Staffordshire midway between Rugeley and Uttoxeter at the southern end of the Peak District close to Cannock Chase.The barns have varying accommodation with 1 four bedroomed, 2 three bedroomed, 2 two bedroomed and one for two people with a Four-poster bed with Jacuzzi Bath. All have wooden floors, oak beams, fully fitted kitchens complete with dishwashers and the majority of bedrooms are en suite. They all have private patios overlooking the reservoir with its abundance of wildlife, and also have communal lawns and a field for ball games. There are TVs and video recorders in each cottage with a selection of videos, books and games to borrow in the Garden Room which has a pool table. There is also a small laundry.We have carp fishing both on the farm and on a neighbouring farm and it is possible to hire boats on the reservoir at a daily rate for Trout fishing. The Staffordshire Way crosses the farm which is very popular with walkers and horse riding nearby. The reservoir is an SSSI nature reserve for bird-watching.Abbots Bromley is famous for its 'Horn Dance', an ancient ceremony which takes place at the beginning of September each year, and it also has 5 pubs, most of which serve excellent meals along with many other pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area. Staffordshire itself is full of beautiful countryside and interesting towns and villages. Lichfield with its Cathedral, Burton upon Trent with its history of Beer brewing and the famous Bass Museum, Stoke on Trent (The Potteries) with numerous factory shops and the County town of Stafford with many historic buildings including the Castle and the High House.The Peak District with its wonderful scenery, walks and cycle trails is about High Season Low Season Open All Year, Closed at Christmas, Closed at New Year Cottage |
