Stokes Barn is a 19th Century Threshing Barn, that offers comfortable group and budget accommodation at an affordable price, in a scenic location.

The business has now developed to offer activities and package ideas for all kinds of groups looking for somewhere to stay.

The complex can accommodate up to 45 people indoors within 4 separate self-contained units or all units can be hired separately.

The Barn is situated on the Limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge, close to Much Wenlock and set within the grassland fields of the family farm amongst one of the most picturesque areas of Shropshire.

We are within easy reach of the historic market towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow & Bridgnorth and just seven miles from the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage site & Museums.

Stokes Barn is now a proven and well developed base for groups that want to explore and make the most of this wonderful area.

We can help you or we can arrange activities such as walking, orienteering, leadership training and problem solving, canoeing, rock climbing, caving, horse riding etc. These can be included as part of an accommodation package.

The Threshing Barn This is the largest self-contained unit within the centre and can either be hired out as part of the complex or independently depending on the clients various requirements and needs. Complete with a large kitchen and dinning areas (see below) as well as an open-plan living area and toilet/shower facilities, the Threshing Barn is always the preferred choice of larger groups of anything up to 33 people. The three rooms sleep 12, 14 and 7 in bunk beds and are all centrally heated and carpeted for your comfort. As part of the price when hiring the barn you will be provided with a bottom sheet as well as covered pillows, addition hire of duvets are available at a cost of £2.50 per person for the entire stay.


The large fully serviced kitchen includes an industrial oven complete with 6 large gas plates (with all fuel included within your booking), an industrial size microwave oven all pots, pans crockery and cutlery. All available for your exclusive use.


The Dinning Area will seat around 30 guests in banquet style with further space for more tables in the living area. The Dinning room is along side the kitchen for simple access with food.


This is the lazy area for evening relaxing and wet-day activities. There is a modern Television and video for entertainment and also board games and cards for your enjoyment.

Stokes Barn is located on the Limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge, close to Much Wenlock.

The barn an idea base for exploring Shropshire and its many attractions. We are convenient for the historic market towns of Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
