Langdale Cottage is situated in the beautíful Ironbridge Gorge. Just a short walk down a footpath is Dale End Park, an area of quiet landscaped parkland on the banks of the Severn with the trees of the gorge rising up behind - a perfect place for towpath walks, picnics and fishing. Half a mile away is the famous iron bridge and the cottage is an ideal base for exploring the town - "Home of the Industrial Revolution" - with its wonderful World Heritage museum sites and intriguing buildings. Close to Ironbridge are the ancient towns of Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury while the new town of Telford provides every conceivable shopping and entertainment need. The Severn Valley Railway runs steam trains from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster and walking in the magnificent Shropshire hills is just a five mile drive away. The cottage, a Grade II listed building constructed in 1820, was restored about twenty years ago and retains its original exposed beams, cast-iron pattern arched window and unique roof with a complex pattern of different coloured tiles. The comfortable interior now provides a living room and dining kitchen downstairs, while upstairs there are two bedrooms, and a bathroom. The living room has two sofas around the Victorian-tiled fireplace which houses a coal effect fire. Gas fired central heating with radiators throughout also keeps the cottage warm in winter. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped with fridge/freezer, washer/drier, electric cooker and microwave. The large main bedroom has a double bed, solid pine bedroom furniture and a small sofa. The second bedroom has two 6'6"X 2'6" single beds and its own en-suite showerroom with toilet, wash-basin and shower cubicle. Outside there is a picnic table and lawned garden and parking for two cars in the drive.
