Nestling below Wenlock Edge, Homer is a peaceful village just a mile outside the historic and picturesque township of Much Wenlock. Bramley is a compact and comfortable self contained apartment with its own garden entrance. It has its own Courtyard with patio furniture looking onto the lovely cottage garden with apple, pear, plum and damson trees (which guests are welcome to help themselves to in season!) It has been awarded 2 Stars by VisitBritain.The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site is only 4 miles away. Downstairs is the entrance-hall, a small kitchen, and shower-room with heated towel-rail. Upstairs, the pine-panelled bed-sitting room has comfortable twin beds, and plenty of storage space. On the well-stocked bookshelves you'll find walking guides, O.S. maps and leaflets. There are electric heaters and a fan if the weather turns hot! Guests are welcome to use the owners washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a T.V, radio and hair dryer and electric blankets on the beds. We have three tog weights of duvet to choose from. From Homer there are fine views over the Severn valley and the Wrekin. There is much to explore for those interested in history and the natural environment. Wenlock Edge, on the doorstep, has a rich limestone flora, and several species of orchid can be found. The garden is a wildlife haven and the greater spotted woodpecker is a frequent visitor, with other uncommon bird species including tree creepers and nuthatches. Homer is in the South Shropshire Hills AONB and there are many lovely walks nearby. We are only a 30 minute drive from the Long Mynd, Caer Caradoc and other South Shropshire Hills. Much Wenlock, a mile away, is a delight, with its timber-framed Guildhall, Priory ruins, picturesque houses and shops. The Ironbridge Gorge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, is only 10 minutes away, and has an excellent and varied group of museums which interpret the area's past, including Blist's Hill 'Victorian Town.' Ludlow has oustanding Medieval and Georgian buildings, castle ruins in a magnificent position above the River Teme and regular markets. Bridgnorth has a fascinating cliff railway and cave dwellings, along with its market, and the medieval town of Shrewsbury has its Abbey, Regimental Museum,river trips n the Severn in season and interesting individual shops. Countless smaller towns and villages, many with lovely old churches, all add to the richness of a visit to this part of Shropshire.
