Within two and half hours of  London and Manchester, The Wainhouse nestles in a tranquil area of Herefordshire. Invisible from the road, it is within five minutes drive of a railway station with direct trains to Worcester, Oxford and London, Birmingham and Hereford. The M50 is fifteen minutes away  allowing for excellent access to the M5 and the rest of the motorway system.

Set within fifteen acres of grounds belonging to The Woodhouse, a Grade 2* listed medieval semi-moated hall house, the grounds include a large garden and two small orchards. The property is surrounded by orchards now producing cider apples instead of the hops for which this area was once famous. This rural environment ensures plenty of wildlife from the smallest of insects to carp in the moat, herons, kingfishers, hare and deer in nearby woods. 

Inside the cottage, the bedroom has been converted into luxury accommodation for two people. The bed has silk hangings,   the comfortable sitting room houses the stove, LCD flat screen TV, DVD/video, CD/radio/cassette and there are books, games and suggestions on places to visit and things to do.

The extremely well equipped kitchen has microwave, fridgefreezer, dishwasher,washer/dryer and food mixer.  A welcome basket is provided and we offer a number of different dining solutions to make your stay more enjoyable. These range from breakfast hampers to picnic lunches to award-winning local handmade ready meals, all of which can be ordered in advance.

The terrace has a water feature and provides total seclusion, while the lawned garden beyond has views over farmland towards Ledbury.

This is the perfect base from which to explore the three counties, to walk, go grassboarding or canoeing, visit cathedrals, castles, grand houses, gardens,literary or music festivals.Two miles from Ledbury,the prettiest town in Herefordshire, we are ideally situated for the Ledbury Poetry Festival, Malvern Garden shows and Three Choirs Festival. Racecourses at Hereford and Cheltenham are twenty five and forty five minutes away respectively. Ludlow is a mere forty minutes away and Bath is just over an hour.
