Lower Hardwick House is a timber framed former farmhouse of 14th Century origins, with its own gardens, pastures and apple orchard. The property enjoys uninterrupted views over surrounding countryside to The Black Mountains. It is off the beaten track in the peaceful medieval hamlet of Lower Hardwick.
The Stables is the only holiday cottage we offer and consists of a detached single storey retreat. It sits in a quiet courtyard and offers one bedroom self-catering accommodation.
The conversion has been sympathetically undertaken to retain the charm of the old building and now offers high quality accommodation as detailed below:
A double bedroom (a 5’ king size or two 2’6 singles).
A contemporary shower room with toilet, basin and large walk-in shower.
An open plan living space with bespoke kitchen (including built-in oven, hob, dishwasher), a dining area and a sitting area with interesting and unusual furnishings. There is a wood burner, TV, video/DVD and hi-fi together with books, games, cd’s and videos.
The Stables is a small but beautifully furnished and decorated comfortable holiday home, with Brazilian slate floors laid throughout. It is suitable for occupation throughout the year.
The facilities for our guests now include:
A modern outdoor heated swimming pool (40x18 feet), which is open from approx April to end September, (subject to weather conditions). It is surrounded by flagstone terraces with hardwood furniture.
An all-weather tennis court (correct shoes please)
A large traditional lean-to furnished greenhouse.
A private terrace adjacent to The Stables with hardwood furniture.
A large gas BBQ, and dining facilities in the old threshing barn, providing sheltered eating and storage for bikes and books.
