Rose and Lilac Cottage are situated within the Brobury Estate on the banks of the River Wye, in peaceful surroundings and offer the perfect retreat for those wishing to enjoy the beautiful countryside of the Wye Valley, Herefordshire and the Welsh Marches. Artists, bibliophiles, birdwatchers, fishermen, historians and walkers will all find much to engage their interest in this idyllic rural environment. The cottages are available all year round for weekly letting and coarse fishing on the River Wye is included. There are eight acres of gardens and water meadow to explore and relax in, all set against the glorious backdrop of the Wye Valley. Pets are welcomeThe cottages are fully furnished, providing comfortable accommodation for 4/5 guests. Beach cottage comprises a small entrance hall, good sized sitting room with TV, well equipped kitchen with washing machine, tumble drier, electric cooker, microwave and fridge freezer. Upstairs there is one twin and one double bedroom (convertible into a second twin room if preferred), a bathroom with bath, shower and wc and a separate second toilet. The cottages are equipped with oil fired central heating and open fires add additional comfort on chilly evenings. Cots and high chairs are available on request.Brobury is conveniently situated half way between the city of Herefordshire with its beautiful Cathedral and historic Mappa Mundi and Hay-on-Wye with its unique collection of bookshops and international Festival. Francis Kilvert the Victorian diarist lived and is buried just across the river from Brobury House. Just to the north of Brobury lie Weobley and Kington, both noted for their typical "black and white" cottages. There are many beautiful gardens of all sizes and descriptions including Hergest Croft Gardens and the entirely organic walled gardens at Hampton Court, near Leominster.
