Suffolk Cottages in Thorndon

Manor Farm Barn

5 Bedrooms    3 Bathrooms    Sleeps 10    Children Welcome    No Pets    No Smoking

Renovated to a very high standard, this large old Suffolk barn stands detached within its own substantial grounds in the heart of the village.

Fantastic views can be seen from the farmhouse-style kitchen, and the particularly fine dining room and lounge imparts a sense of grandeur to the house, and its underfloor heated flagstone floor and massive open fire mean you can dine or relax in style.

Surrounding the area is a network of footpaths, whre many pleasant walks can be enjoyed, and for cyclists, the quiet country lanes provide ample opportunities to explore a little further afield.

A short drive away is Thornham Country Park, where the natural woodland provides a habitat for abundant wildlife that can be observed firsthand whilst taking a leisurely stroll.

Nearby Framlingham, a sleepy village boasting a turreted castle and once the original seat of the Dukes of Norfolk, lies in an area which has become the centre of East Anglia's flourishing wine industry, and a number of local vineyards offer tours and tastings.

For archaeological enthusiasts, Sutton Hoo provides an absorbing day out - now managed by the National Trust, this Anglo-Saxon burial site of Raewalk (King of East Anglia), was the place where priceless treasure was discovered within a huge ship grave. Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens provide a further enjoyable day out nearby.

Within 25 miles lie Bury St Edmunds, Norwich & the Suffolk/Norfolk coast. Riding stables in village. Many local pubs & restaurants, with the village pub serving food.
