Originally a Victorian Granary, the building has now been sympathetically converted into self contained cottages. Spacious and tastefully furnished. The Granary surrounds a courtyard, on 1 side are the smaller bed and breakfast units, with the cottages opposite. It is located at Moor End Farm, Broxted. Moor End is a 420 acre arable farm that has been in the Burton family since 1935. The main crops grown are wheat and barley. There has been a farm here since the 1670s, although only 1 barn remains from this time. The main farmhouse and its buildings were built in the 1880s by the Countess of Warwick as a model farm for the mixed farming of that era. The Granary was cattle sheds, with a grain and feed store above. Moor End is in an area of Special Landscape Value. There is an extensive local footpath network and guests are welcome to use the many conservation headlands around the fields and old water meadows. The owners have also planted over 20,000 trees in the last 10 years. The farm is ideally situated for exploring East Anglia, with quick and easy access to the M11 and A120. It is located between the villages of Great Easton and Broxted. It is 5 miles from the ancient flitch town of Great Dunmow, with its excellent shopping facilities and a similar distance to the medieval village of Thaxted. We aim to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. The Granary is a true family concern and welcome th opportunity to make you feel at home.
