The lakeside lodge is situated within the grounds of Overstone Park Golf and Leisure Resort that is set in 165 acres of Victorian parkland within which there is an 18-hole golf course and two tennis courts. All of the lodges are in small clusters and line the banks of a 21 acre fishing lake to the rear and overlook the golf course at the front. The ground floor has a lounge/dining room 16' x 22'6' which leads to a large terrace deck 16' x 10' backing on to the lake,a galley kitchen and a shower room/cloakroom. The first floor has two double bedrooms, one with a small terrace overlooking the lake and the other looking on to the golf course, together with a fitted bathroom with shower. The lodge is located at the end of a terrace of four similar properties and is a perfect holiday or weekend destination for a small family group or two couples, although there are sleeping facilities for five. The golf club boasts a magnificent 18 hole, 6602 yard, par 72 golf course, 200 yard practice area with sand traps and a nine hole putting green, PGA tuition together with a modern well equipped shop together with a Spike Bar. Also there is a clubhouse, with a terrace overlooking the golf course and a restaurant which has a great view over the golf course and a terrace and patio. The resort has a central England location near the historic town of Northampton with convenient road, air and rail links. It is a mere short drive from many of the country's famous heritage sites including the ancestral home of Diana Princess of Wales, Althorp House, Rockingham Castle, Sulgrave Manor, historic churches at Fawsley and Brixworth, Coton Manor Gardens, Stoke Bruene and the canal museum. The Silverstone racetrack is approximately 21 miles away and a little further afield there is Warwick Castle (45 miles) and Stratford upon Avon (55 miles) Additional Notes: 1) The golf club is available to non members. Overstone is a popular course for casual golfers with a wide variety of green fee options including special rates - 'Winter Warmer' - 18 holes + full English breakfast (or brunch) for £23 per person. Normal fees on weekdays are - £18 for 18 holes and Twilight Teeing off after 1 p.m. (9 holes) £12. (2) There are two hard tennis courts on the estate that are available for the use of non members. Bookings should, however, be made with reception. (3) The clubhouse and terrace is available for use and there is a pine-clad Scandanavian style bar and Terrace Restaurant which is wonderfully positioned overlooking the greens and offers all day catering. The Terrace Restaurant offers a great view over the course and during the summer guests have the choice of sitting out on the terrace or on the patio. There is a choice from a full a la cart menu or a wide selection of homemade bar snacks.
