Since 2000, 130 acres of woodland and parkland have been planted, transforming the old Prestop Park back to its historical roots as one of the three great parks of Ashby and, to the north, views extend over 'Ivanhoe's' valley. Visitors are welcome to enjoy these extensive walks.The accommodation includes a spacious, fully fitted kitchen, two en suite bedrooms (one ground floor) and a flagged living room with oak galleried landing. Furnishing is a tasteful combination of new and antique, enhancing the charm of the property.Whilst staying in the countryside on a working farm, visitors still have easy access to the M42 and are only a mile from the old market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.We are close to many places of interest: Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold Church, Kedleston and Sudbury Halls (all National Trust). Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Melbourne Hall are also within easy reach. We are only 20 minutes from Nottingham East Midlands Airport, Donington Race Track, and 30 minutes from the N.E.C., Birmingham Airport and the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.For the more energetic there is walking/cycling around Foremarke Reservoir and there are several reputable golf clubs in the area. Ashby has its own leisure centre and swimming pool.For those who like exploring the list is endless, and for those who want a quiet restful break, the surroundings will supply this.
