Little Hallmoor Castle is a unique and wonderful little castle with its mellow stone walls hiding a luxurious, modern, warm and cosy interior. Hidden away in the peace and tranquillity of the Derwent Valley hillside you can almost hear the silence as you gaze at the incredible views from the roof top terrace. The castle was built as a nurseryman's cabin or 'bothy' about 150 years ago but it has recently been converted to an absolutely fabulous holiday retreat. Simple decoration, sumptuous furnishings and a lovely kitchen and shower room are complemented by hard wood floors, deep pile rugs, a glowing log burning stove and super 'picture' windows. Country walks through the hillside woods or down into super Halldale radiate from the castle door. Just a few minutes in the car will take you to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and all the Peak District's other attractions along the valley. Save an afternoon or two to pick strawberries and raspberries for tea in the adjoining fruit farm before a walk across the fields to the Plough Inn in Two Dales. Have the last few glasses of an evening under the stars on the sheltered roof terrace. High Season Low Season Open All Year, Closed at Christmas, Closed at New Year Cottage |
