Luxury apartments in the beautifully restored Ladybower Lodge, built in c1929 the Ladybower Lodge was the original pump house for the Ladybower dam project, which created one of Britain's largest reservoirs and famously used by the 617 Squadron during World War 2 to practice their Dambuster raids. These new exquisite apartments offer our visitors the privacy of self catering, together with the facilities of the Yorkshire Bridge Inn, close to hand for drinks, dining or meeting with friends. Each apartment has 2 or 3 en suite bedrooms sleeping 4 to 6 adults, ultra modern kitchens with integrated appliances and adjoining dining and lounge areas, finished to a very high standard of comfort. There is private parking with security gates, also a gymnasium and covered cycle storage.The Laydbower dam is only a short stroll away, next to Ladybower Dam are Derwent and Howden Reservoirs. Derbyshire hosts a feast of famous houses such as Chatsworth House the home of the Duke and duchess of Devonshire. Many of these houses with there beautiful gardens are open to the public and make fascinating viewing.Anglers are well catered for with Fly fishing for Brown and Rainbow Trout caught from the bank or by hiring a boat from the local fishery officer. Bicycle hire from Fairholmes close to Derwent Dam. Also a short drive away is Castleton made famous by the Blue John Stone, where visitors can explore the caves and caverns through out the year.
